ABOUT ME

IMG_8329.jpg

I’m Ché, an experienced BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural psychotherapist, registered EMDR therapist, open dialogue practitioner and I'm also a registered mental health nurse.

My professional journey began in 1998 when I trained to become a mental health nurse at the UEA in Norwich.

Upon graduating I moved to London to work at The Priory Hospital in Roehampton where I specialised in acute mental health, eating disorders and addiction treatment. In 2007 I moved into the NHS to take up more senior specialist positions in substance misuse and community mental health in central London.

In 2015 I went on to successfully complete post graduate training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) at Royal Holloway University and have worked since then as a psychological therapist in NHS psychology services in Kensington and Chelsea treating anxiety disorders and depression.

My current NHS role is as a senior psychological therapist with the Grenfell health and wellbeing service, which was set up in 2017 to support and treat people who have been affected by the Grenfell tower fire.

I established a private practice in 2018 offering individual psychological therapy and other mental health services. Due to where life has taken me professionally I have specialised in helping people recover from trauma; single incident, complex trauma and attachment based trauma by drawing upon different approaches; trauma-focussed cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), compassion focussed therapy (CFT)  and narrative exposure therapy (NET) often a combination; depending on what fits best for my client.

I am client centred, non-judgemental, warm and respectful. I like therapy to be a collaborative process, a safe space for you to explore whatever you decide to bring to therapy.

My Qualifications and training:

Diploma in Open Dialogue (AFT)

Attachment informed EMDR training with Mark Brayne part 1 &2

EMDR certificate (EMDR Academy)

Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Royal Holloway University).
